As Salam-o-Alaykum

Silsila tod gaya wo sabhi jaate jaate,
warna itne to marasim the ke aate jaate,

Shikwa-e-zulmat- e-shab se to kahin behtar tha,
apne hisse ki koi shamma jalate jalate,

Kitna aasan tha tere hijr mein marna jaana,
phir bhi ek umr lagi jaan se jaate jaate,

jashn-e-maqtal hi na barpa hua warna um bhi,
paa-bajolaan hi sahi naachte gaate,

uski wo jaane usse paas-e-wafa tha ke na tha,
tum "faraz" apni taraf se to nibhate jaate...
