Jab bahar aai to sehra ki taraf chal nikla
Sehan-e-gul chor gaya dil mera pagal nikla

Jab use dhoondne nikle to nishaan tak na mila
Dil mein maujood raha aankh se oojhal nikla

Ek mulaqaat thi jo dil ko sada yaad rahi
Hum jise umar samjhate the woh ek pal nikla

Woh jo afsana-e-gam sun ke hansa karte the
Itna roye hain k sab aankh ka kajal nikla

Hum sakoon dhoondne nikle the pareshaan rahe
Shahar to shahar hay jungle bhi na jungle nikla

kaun “Ayub” pareshaan nahi tareeki mein
chand aaftaab pe dil seene mein bekal nikla
