Mujhay apne zabt pe naaz tha,sar-e-bazm raat yeh kia huwa
Meri ankh kaise chalak gai, mujhay gham hay yeh bura hua

Meri zindagi ke cheragh ka, ye mezaj kuch naya nahin
Abhi roshni abhi teergi, na jala hua na bujha hua

Mujhay jo bhi dushman -e-jaan mila, woh pukhta kaar jafa mila
Na kisi ki zarb ghulut parri, na kisi ka waar khata hua

Mujhay raastay main parra hua, aik ajnabi ka khat milla
Kahin khoon-e-dil se likha hua, kahin aansoan se mita hua

Mujhay humsafer bhi mila koi,sitem zareef meri tarah
Kai manzilon ka thakka hua, kahin raaston ka luta hua

Mujhay is ka koi bhi haq nahin, ke main shareek-e-bazm- e-khaloos hoon
Na meray pass koi niqab hai, na kuch asteen main chupa huwa

Yeh jo sar jhuka ke guzar gaye, meray samnay se abhi abhi
Meray apnay shehar ke log thay, meray ghar se ghar tha mila huwa

Mujhay ap kiyun na samajh sake ye khud apnay dil se poochiye
Meri zindagi ki kitab ka warq warq hai khula hua
